What does this graph mean?  It shows the number of homes actively for sale (supply) vs. the number of homes that are selling each month (demand).  This gives an idea of what direction prices are heading.  Basic economics says that when the supply is greater than the demand that prices will go down, and that when demand is greater than the supply that prices will go up.

What does this graph mean?  It tells us approximately how long it will take to sell ALL the homes currently available for sale, based upon the rate at which they have sold over the past year, if NO other homes come on the market.
